Puppets! Puppets! Puppets!

Hey Everyone! Here's picts of my latest project for the Clark Art Institute's Stone Hill Center opening. Big floaty Koi and Crane puppets. Each one is hand batiked — the patterns are applied with melted wax and then the fabric is dyed. The wax resists the dye and voila. Interiors are constructed of foam and carbon graphite rod. I made four, total . . . about a month in the making. So come see them on Family Day, July 27th at the Sterling & Francine Clark Art Institute.

Oh David,
They are really phenomenal! As always, I am so darn impressed by you and your amazing talent. I am sorry that I will miss family day, but I hope to see the puppets in person the next time I can visit you :) rebecca
